Here's What You'll Do
People Leadership
- Collaborate with the Field Services Manager, Superintendents, and Foremen to determine labor needs for current and upcoming projects.
- Partner with Human Resources to recruit, select, and retain qualified field talent.
- Train, mentor, and coach Superintendents, Foremen, and craftworkers to strengthen technical capabilities and leadership skills.
- Ensure projects are adequately staffed, assigning the right talent to each project based on scope, schedule, and skill requirements.
- Determine the most efficient use of labor and crew composition, aligning workforce skills and abilities with project budgets and objectives.
- Review weekly productivity reports for self-performed work.
- Review weekly overtime reports with project management to maintain cost and workload balance.
- Establish and manage superintendent travel schedules and assignments to ensure adequate coverage across all job sites.
- Coordinate backup Superintendents, as needed to maintain project continuity.
- Conduct meaningful performance evaluations for all Superintendents, Foremen and craftworkers.
- Assess field staff strengths, skill gaps, and professional goals to inform training, placement, and career development efforts.
- Coordinate and oversee training programs for all field personnel.
- Review and approve weekly timecards; work with Superintendents to resolve discrepancies or compliance issues.
Project Oversight & Operational Excellence
- Monitor commercial and industrial projects to ensure conformance with construction schedules, quality standards, and company Standard Operating Procedures.
- Partner with clients, architects, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle to build strong relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
- Provide guidance to field operations regarding materials, sequencing, scheduling, labor and methods of construction; recommend necessary equipment purchases as needed.
- Utilize Procore to review and verify three-week look-ahead schedules, daily logs and ensure photo documentation is completed by superintendents on all projects.
- Ensure project start-up and pre-planning tasks are completed, including pre-planning checklists for self-performed work.
- Monitor project performance for timely and cost-effective completion, providing regular progress updates to Project Management, Estimating, and Finance, and actively participate in review meetings.
- Collaborate with Project Management to assist Superintendents in resolving subcontractor performance or coordination issues.
- Champion a culture of safety and hold field leadership accountable for compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements – including OSHA, DOT and Fleet Safety, SWPPP, controlled access, and hazardous materials management.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of concrete construction to guide field operations, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure excellence in forming, placement, and finishing methods.
- Conduct regular safety inspections in collaboration with Risk Management.

Here's What We're Looking For
Education & Experience
- Degree in Construction Management or Construction Engineering, 15+ years of progressive construction experience, including significant field leadership responsibility, or equivalent combination of education, construction and leadership experience.
- OSHA 30 certification required within 90 days of employment start date.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- OSHA 30 Certification within 90 days of employment start date.
- Ability to efficiently use technology (e.g., tablet).
- Proficient in Procore.
