Adult Education Special Education Teacher – The Learning Bank

Monroe Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide instructional support for adult learners at The Learning Bank. This is a part-time position, approximately 5 hours per week, with scheduling to be determined based on program needs.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing instructional and academic support to adult education students with identified special education needs.
• Developing and implementing accommodations, modifications, and strategies to promote learner success.
• Collaborating with staff to support individualized learning plans.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation as required by district and program guidelines.
• Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all participants.

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education endorsement required.
• Experience working with adult learners or alternative education settings preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with program staff and students.

Hours & Compensation:

• Approximately 5 hours per week as scheduled by the Learning Bank Director.
• $27.05 per hour.
