Delivery Leader

Position Summary:

The Delivery Leader will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of projects and services for the organization. Successfully execution includes ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and aligned to business requirements. They will also work closely with other business functions to ensure project requests are managed through our intake process with the necessary scope / requirements inputs to effectively prioritize and slot these projects into our overall portfolio. They will provide timely and relevant status updates to all project sponsors and will work with the broader organization to address blockers and risks that require escalation support.

· Demand Intake – manage intake requests for project support from business partners. Ensure necessary inputs including scope, requirements, timeline expectations and budget constraints are understood for all intake requests.

· Project & Program Management – lead the planning, execution and delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives.

o Work with the project team to establish clear scope definition

o Establish appropriately detailed and networked project schedules with clear visibility to critical path activities.

o Ensure project responsibilities are understood and accepted by all participants

o Manage regular project updates (weekly) to ensure status is reflected in the schedule

o Manage schedule updates to fast track / compress as needed to address schedule delays

o Provide regular communications on project status to project stakeholders

· Risk / Issue Management - Track / manage and assist in the mitigation of blockers, risks and issues. Work with the project teams to mitigate blockers within their span of control. Provide escalation support including awareness and mitigation recommendations to project sponsors and stakeholders.

· Quality Management – ensure quality / regulatory requirements are adhered to during project execution. Drive awareness to deviations as needed.

· Coaching / mentoring – provide coaching and mentoring through the organization on delivery tools and best practices. Provide learning opportunities for business partners to understand the “why” behind our approach and methodology. Upskill project team members as needed to execute according to our tools and practices.

· Workshop Facilitation – assist in the coordination and execution of planning workshops, strategy sessions, problem solving sessions as needed.

· Budget Support – partner with the IT leadership team to develop and maintain the budget. This may include rationalizing project invoices from service providers and identifying and explaining deviations from plan.

· Vendor Management – partner with IT leadership to manage relationships with 3rd party suppliers and service providers.

o Identify and evaluate potential service partners

o Review and provide feedback on contracts

o Assist in the monitoring of vendor performance aligned to contracted terms

· Performs related responsibilities as required.

Education and/or Experience:

· Bachelor's degree

· Minimum 6 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

· Proficiency with project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, Jira, MS Azure Boards, Smartsheets, etc.) Not all are required.

· Intermediate Excel skills - ability to develop complex excel reports by utilizing formulas, pivot tables, charts, macros, etc.

· Excellent organization skills, ability to balance immediate and long-term priorities and exceptional multitasking skills are a necessity

· Proactive and motivated self-starter, organized, and effective at managing time (able to meet multiple deadlines for deliverables)

· Ability to effectively interact and communicate with individuals at all levels including senior executive management

· Problem solving and troubleshooting skills

· Ability to learn new concepts and acclimate to new tools quickly

· Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills


Physical Demands:

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed, may require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods during the day, reaching above shoulder heights, below waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the day. The position may require lifting heavy supplies and office materials. Travel up to 10% may be required.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. For the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
