Job responsibilities:- Leading and taking ownership and responsibility for development (write, review, proofread, and data-check) of high-quality, client-ready scientific, medical, and educational materials like slides, abstracts, posters, manuscripts, MSL/training slide decks, infographics, congress and meetings materials, literature searches and reviews, standard response letters/medical information letters, and HCP engagement content according to client and audience needs with excellent attention to detail. Leading medical writing projects to deliver on time and in scope
- Actively involved in reviewing materials developed by scientific writers to ensure strategic alignment and scientific accuracy as needed and providing clear constructive feedback, support, and supervision to writers. Mentor and train scientific writers by sharing best practices and client preferences, thereby contributing to skill development within the team
- Demonstrate deep product/account knowledge to enable meaningful client and author interactions, including strategic consultancy. Build and maintain strong relationships with global pharma clients, HCPs, authors, reviewers, and KOLs across therapeutic areas- anticipating needs and offering proactive guidance. Advise clients on optimizing scientific content and suggest new formats to enhance data dissemination
- Be a key client contact and closely involved in account management and project management. Provide and ideate solutions for streamlining processes across the company
- Effectively and proactively communicate with team members, authors/faculty, clients and vendors
- Attend workshops/seminars/trainings to hone your skills and contribute to organizational objectives
- Attending client and other external meetings and supporting senior team members as needed
- Apply your scientific and creative knowledge and work closely with client directors in developing ideas and executing effective medical communications initiatives in the digital space, including publication extenders, creation of infographics, interactive assets, website content, patient narratives, and medical information engagement plans. Also, supporting with the development of visual content and materials using effective data visualization techniques and approaches. Contributing to innovative “out of the box” solutions for medical writing projects
- You will be responsible for ensuring all materials comply with client requirements/SOPs, style guides, client templates, client preferences (as applicable), and CACTUS’ internal SOPs
- Perform as a document specialist, provide intellectual input across document types, and contribute to making cutting-edge research accessible to specific audiences as appropriate, by maintaining current awareness of developments across therapeutic areas or disciplines
- Work cross-functionally with in-house technology and creative teams on building innovative digital solutions for Medical Affairs clients, including digital HCP and patient engagement materials
- Participate in client pitches and business development meetings as required
- Growing organic business and supporting with the acquisition of new business from other clients
- Effectively manage a team of writers and reviewers if on the managerial track - Work with CACTUS’ medical directors to develop and execute strategic medical communications initiatives such as scientific communications platforms, medical communications plans, KOL engagement plans, meeting planning, etc.

Qualifications and prerequisites:- 7+ years of experience in writing and reviewing Medical Communications/Medical Information content for Medical Affairs/Promo Med Ed, preferably within an agency or biopharma environment
- PhD/MD in medicine, life sciences, health sciences, pharmacy, pharmacology; M.Pharm/MSc. with a good understanding of clinical research and medical communication Committed personality with excellent communication skills to clearly express complex ideas and the ability to manage the expectations of multiple stakeholders both internal and external
- Ability to understand and drive strategic medical communications initiatives such as scientific communications platforms, medical communications plans, KOL engagement plans, meeting planning, etc.
- Client-oriented approach with excellent understanding of clients’ needs and what is required to create high-quality documents and provide outstanding solutions
- Able to work under pressure, to deliver within tight timelines and to enable others to do so as well
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, as well as the resources of other team members

Our selection process typically involves an initial screening by a recruiter, a technical assessment, and two to three interview rounds. For this role, the process includes two Technical Interviews with the hiring managers, followed by a Technical Assessment, where candidates will have agreed upon timeline to complete the task. The final round will be the HR Interview. All interactions will be conducted virtually via MS Teams.
