The Worcester Art Museum is seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills to join our team as Protective Services Assistant Manager. This role supports daily museum operations and reports directly to the Protective Services Manager. The position combines administrative work with hands-on supervision.
You’ll manage gallery assignments, secure coverage for call-outs, conduct team briefings, and oversee opening and closing procedures within the museum. Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365 are essential.
The Assistant Manager serves as the first point of contact for staff, providing guidance and support while escalating serious concerns when needed. The role requires calm, professional responses to emergencies, including urgent security situations. You’ll also represent the department in museum-wide meetings and supervise events as assigned.
Ideal candidates have prior supervisory experience and are comfortable engaging with the public, should be adaptable, skilled in de-escalation, and able to manage both detailed tasks and broader team coordination. A commitment to inclusivity and working with a diverse team is essential.

· Demonstrated ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
