ABOUT THE ROLE:
SNAPSHOT: The Delivery Driver represents and acts as the “Face of Lyons” providing the highest level of customer service to our retail and foodservice customers. A Route and Touch-Freight delivery position responsible for the safe, efficient, reliable delivery of products to Lyons customers.
- POSITION: Delivery Driver
- LOCATION: Monroe, Louisiana
- COMMITMENT: Full-Time: 4-day work week (*Tuesday-Friday) starting at 2:00am (*Days and work week subject to change due to holidays and special circumstances)
- COMPENSATION: Salary: $60,000 / annual
- PERFORMANCE INCENTATIVE: Up to $2,500 / per quarter. Must properly complete all required eligibility criteria each workday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES (will include, but not limited to):
- Represents Lyons Specialty Co in a professional manner providing friendly service.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Ensures timely and consistent deliveries of damage-free products to designated customers / accounts by adhering to work assignments without tardiness and following routing instructions without deviation. Regular and prompt attendance is required.
- Performs routine pre/post trip inspections on truck and other company equipment.
- Safely operate Company Tractor/Trailer Refrigerated trucks and all other equipment complying with all federal, state, local laws, and company guidelines.
- Responsible for unloading all products by hand and/or dolly placing in designated customer areas; in addition to accurately and efficiently using handheld scanner, verifying all counts and customer signatures, reporting any/all discrepancies, collection and management of customer account payments following required process and procedures.
- Maneuvers a dolly carrying product or equipment effectively and safely.
- Regularly works in a variety of outdoor weather and variable environmental conditions.
- Repetitively lifts and/or carries up to 75lbs for extended periods in a fast-paced and physically demanding role: The position requires moderate climbing, kneeling, crawling, stooping, squatting, or bending. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by the person in the role to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Perform any duties as assigned from supervisor and/or department head.
PERFORMANCE INCENTATIVE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (will include, but not limited to and subject to change):
- Handheld use equal to or greater than 95% - All totes and products being delivered must be scanned.
- Truck fuel at 100% fuel upon return to the warehouse - tracked via Fleet Tracking System.
- Collection of totes from accounts, with tote sheets completed and signed by customers.
- Punctual departure from the yard - specific time is determined by route but will not be later than 5:00am.
- Completion of daily logs - DVIR, E-Logs, Pre / Post Trip inspections.
- Accurate counts of delivered items (e.g., cigarettes, tobacco, totes and bundles) at each account.
- Completion of all deliveries. Reporting any discrepancies to the Lyons Home Office and Director of Transportation before leaving the customer store.
- Collection and proper handling of customer payments. Returning completed paperwork.
- Mandatory attendance at driver meetings – no attendance without cause forfeits bonus for the month.
Requirements
ABOUT YOU:
NECESSARY EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have and maintain a valid CDL-Class A license and have a clear and acceptable driving record.
- Must have at least 2+ years of CDL-Class A Tractor/Trailer commercial driving experience.
- Must have and be able to maintain a valid DOT Physical certificate.
- Professional experience in route and touch-freight delivery preferred.
- Must be able to work early morning route starts and be flexible during holidays. Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of this role.
- Physical strength and stamina required to perform the regular duties of this job: repetitively lifting and/or moving up to 100lbs, frequently sitting, standing, climbing, and balancing.
- Must be able to work in a variety of outdoor weather and variable environmental conditions.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Applicable candidates will be required to submit authorization and successfully complete Pre-Employment Screening:
- Criminal Background Investigation.
- Motor Vehicle Record and Valid Driver’s License-CDL Class A
- Pre-Employment DOT Drug and Alcohol Test.
