About this role
PlanetBids is looking for a Sales Leader to build and lead a dynamic sales team. This role will oversee a team of Regional Sales Reps, and in-house and outsourced SDR function, all focused on selling the PlanetBids platform and related services across multiple public sector verticals and related corporate entities. The Sales Leader is responsible for driving revenue growth, optimizing sales execution, and fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and collaboration. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on both strategy and execution, combining big picture thinking with hands-on tactical leadership.

Role Responsibilities
- Sales Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, coach and manage a high-performing sales team, ensuring they meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies to drive pipeline growth, improve conversion rates, and accelerate revenue.
- HubSpot CRM Management: Oversee and optimize sales workflows in HubSpot, ensuring accurate pipeline tracking, reporting, and automation to improve efficiency.
- Reporting: Create and manage necessary reports for leadership and board.
- Performance Monitoring & Coaching: Set sales targets, track key performance metrics, and provide coaching and development opportunities for the team.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product and our client services teams to ensure a seamless customer journey and maximize upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
- Process Optimization: Continuously refine sales processes, improve forecasting accuracy, and implement best practices for lead management and deal progression.
- Customer & Market Insights: Stay informed about industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to adapt sales strategies accordingly.
Required and Desired Skills
- 6-10 years of experience in sales, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven track record of managing and leading sales teams to hit monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets
- Strong expertise in HubSpot CRM (pipeline management, reporting, automation, and integrations).
- Proven ability to hire, train, and mentor a sales team, driving performance improvements.
- Experience in developing sales strategies, forecasting, and quota management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in B2B, B2G or B2C sales and working in a technology or SaaS-driven environment is a plus.
- Ability to work both autonomously as well as within a team in a remote work environment.
