This position is responsible for producing high quality mammographic images and special examinations necessary i.e needle localizations, imaging of specimens, spot magnifications and stereotactic biopsies, Additional responsibilities are performing quality assurance activities as established by the department and regulatory agencies in a timely accurate manner. (50%) Performs high quality mammographic examinations with accurate positioning and proper technique by following established standards. Demonstrate proficiency in special procedures: needle localizations, imaging of specimens, spot magnification, and stereotactic biopsies and bone densitometry (DEXA) if done in the department.
(20%) *Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures utilizing
(20%) *Positions patient and equipment appropriately to accurately
(10%) Ensures operation of mammography equipment by completing preventative maintenance instructions; troubleshooting equipment; calling for service. Performs daily quality assurance testing and monitoring established by the department in a timely manner.

Certifications and Licensures:BLS: Basic Life Support
Equivalent Experience: Within 1 month of hire or transfer
ARRT: Reg Radiologic Technologist
Equivalent Experience: ARRT registry or registry eligible required.
ARRT M: Mammographer
Equivalent Experience: Obtain ARRT mammography certification within one year of hire date.
Required Education:
Education: Associates Degree
Equivalent Experience: AMA approved radiologic technology program required.
