On-Call Banquet Houseperson en Chihuly Garden & Glass

Center Art LLC, managed by the Space Needle LLC, is partnering with Chihuly Studio to operate the Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibition on the Seattle Center grounds next to the Space Needle.  

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Banquet Houseperson support Center Art’s mission, vision and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, personalization, accountability and ownership.  

The Banquet Houseperson is responsible for ensuring that all banquet rooms are set neatly and accurately in accordance with the BEO and management requests. 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

• Have a complete knowledge of storage facilities and ensure that they are kept neat and orderly. 
• Set all rooms in accordance with the BEO for that specific event (according to the Director of Café & Banquet Operations’ instructions). 
• Shows expertise in the spacing of tables, buffets, etc. to ensure that all set-ups are clean and organized. 
• Break down sets, ensuring that all items are stored in their proper locations. 
• Set up and tear down of all tables and chairs needed throughout the facility (coat checks, registration desks, etc.) 
• Properly place all napkins, salt, pepper and sugar caddies on all tables when applicable for room sets. 
• Perform any other duties deemed necessary by banquet management. 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain the highest standards by adhering to both company and departmental standards. 
• Reliable in attendance and punctuality, uses proper time clock and sign in/out procedures. 
• Knowledge of Chihuly Garden and Glass policies and procedures. 
• Knowledge of Fire/Safety/Life procedures. 
• Promote a positive and professional attitude to all internal and external guests. 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Must have a minimum of one-year Housing experience in a high-volume, full-service banquet environment.  
• Must have very good knowledge of room sets/buffet setups.  
• Excellent communication skills necessary.  
• Requires the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks. 
• Always remains professional and works well with others. 
• Walking, standing, reaching, and lifting entire shift. 
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs over one shoulder, lift and carry tables and other banquets hardware.  
• Typical shift is approximately 4-8 hours. 

Full Time, Hourly Position

Hourly Rate: $20.76 - $20.76 per hour plus tips
