Summary
A Host/Hostess is the first impression of the Criollo Restaurant, therefore it is necessary that attitude and appearance create the image we want to be portrayed. A Host/Hostess immediately greets guests at the door, seats, and presents clean menus to guests in a friendly, professional and quick manner. This position has to report time between 6AM - 6:30AM or 4:00pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Criollo Host/Hostess position are as follow:
• Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of specials
• All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed our guests’ expectations
• Take names on waiting list
• Proficient with reservation system ****Open Table
• Schedules dining reservations and arranges parties or special services for diners
• Observes tables and keep track of clean, dirty and occupied tables
• Takes guest information when tables are not immediately available
• Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area
• Answers phone, takes and confirms reservations, and takes questions concerning the menu and restaurant
• Interacts with guests, acknowledging each person as they enter and leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience
• Fill to go orders, if applicable
• Maintain restrooms throughout shift
• Keep in constant contact with the servers and the kitchen to make sure that operations are running smoothly
• Other duties as assigned
Position Status and Availability
The candidate selected for this position must be available to work a full-time, evening (PM) shift, Sunday-Saturday including holidays.

Qualifications
The estimated percentage of daily physical requirements and/or number off pounds that may need to be lifted for this position are as follow:
• Stands during entire shift
• Reaches, bends, and stoops frequently
• Can lift and carry 20 lbs over medium distances (20-30 feet)
Special skills or knowledge necessary for the position:
• Verbally communicates with quests and phone callers
• Excellent communication skills (verbally interacts with management, servers, team members and guests)
• Multi-tasked oriented
• Knowledge of workplace safety and procedures
• Organizational skills
• Have confidence, self-drive and be enthusiastic
Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED; at least one (1) year of experience as a Host/Hostess in a high volume, upscale restaurant.
Must have at least one (1) year of computer experience including proficiency using Open Table.
