Description

We are seeking a hands-on and mechanically skilled and motivated Tooling Technician to join our team. This role is critical to our operations and will play a major part in maintaining and repairing molds essential to our production process. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This job will be evening shift, Monday - Friday 2:00pm – 10:00pm, some weekends. 

Requirements

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on molds to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Conduct complete mold teardowns, inspections, and reassembly as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems associated with molds and tooling equipment.
  • Perform manifold repairs to support proper mold functionality.
  • Use manual mills and lathes for machining tasks (experience is a plus).
  • Operate and safely utilize cranes to lift and move tooling components.
  • Always Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and company safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized tooling workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly.
  • Develop welding skills within the first year of employment (training will be provided).
  • Provide low-voltage electrical troubleshooting and repairs as needed (preferred).
  • Be available for an on-call schedule for tooling related emergencies outside of normal working hours.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications are a plus.
  • Proven mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in a maintenance or tooling role.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Crane operation experience or willingness to learn.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices, particularly in relation to LOTO procedures.
  • Welding experience is not required but will be expected to be developed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Low-voltage electrical experience or knowledge.
  • Experience in an injection molding environment is highly desirable.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and using tools and equipment safely.
