As a Load Planner you will be responsible for the optimal planning of all regional delivery routes including outbound to customers, interfacility transfers and inbound from vendors or suppliers. You will ensure Customer Delivery Representatives and assets are routed safely and cost effectively while maintaining on-time delivery performance above 98%. Success in this role requires strong communication, analytical skills and the ability to partner closely with Customer Experience and Transportation Management teams. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Utilize load planning technology to order, schedule and sequence outbound shipments to customers
  • Collaborate with Transportation Managers and Dispatchers to recommend truck, trailer and driver assignments
  • Execute urgent and white glove shipments with a customer-focused mindset
  • Maintain general awareness of DOT and hazmat regulations
  • Serve as liaison between Operations, Customer Experience and Transportation Management, ensuring satisfaction and timely resolution of orders on hold
  • Deliver high on-time service while minimizing delivery costs
  • Analyze and advise on third-party routing to meet service-level targets
  • Apply an analytical mindset to make data-driven planning decisions
  • Demonstrate understanding of multiple transportation modes
  • Travel up to 25% within the regional delivery network
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education:

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent

Experience and/or Training: 

  •  Minimum 2 years planning and/or dispatching experience

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Ability to execute effectively in a fast-paced environment

    • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

    • Experience with route optimization tools

        Education:

        • Bachelor's in Transportation or Supply Chain Management

        Experience and/or Training:

        •  Experience with Oracle/JDE 
        • Knowledge of route optimization systems such as Descartes, Ortec or Samsara
        • Experience with third-party ELD and asset tracking systems
        •  Experience in bulk transportation

        License/ Certification:

        • DOT Hazmat

        Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

        • Strong analytical approach to decision-making

         

          Physical, Mental, Environmental Demands:

          • Frequent sitting at a desk for extended periods
          • Regular communication through talking, listening, typing and use of handheld devices
          • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, perform tasks with accuracy, maintain work pace, solve varied tasks, make decisions and interact effectively with coworkers and customers both verbally and in writing
          • Work performed primarily in an office environment
          • Noise level is typically moderate but fast-paced and energetic

           

          The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $65,000 and $70,00 annually. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:

          1. Experience and qualifications: The depth of relevant experience and specific skills you bring to the position.
          2. Education and certifications: Any additional qualifications that enhance your ability to succeed in the role.
          3. Market and industry benchmarks: We compare compensation packages with industry standards to ensure we are competitive.
