General Description / Primary Purpose:

The Admissions Events Specialist performs specialized functions within the Admissions department, focusing on the planning, coordination, and execution of recruitment, yield, and retention events. This role supports both on-campus and off-campus initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Enrollment Services and Academic Affairs brand standards. The Specialist collaborates with university staff and external partners to deliver high-impact experiences for prospective students and their families.



Job Function:

· These positions duties will include assisting with the management of admissions events on and off campus.

· Provide administrative and operational support for key admissions events such as Open Houses, Apply in July, Transfer Days, and Admitted Ospreys Days.

· Lead planning and execution of smaller-scale events (e.g., Test Prep, GEAR UP, AVID Summit, Mitch22, Workshops).

· Assist with large-scale events in collaboration with the Assistant and Associate Directors of Admissions.

· Supervise Welcome Center operations in the absence of the Assistant Director Campus Tours.

· Manage event logistics including catering, resource fairs, inventory, and printed materials.

· Coordinate virtual events and tech operations.

· Strategize and implement social media campaigns related to events.

· Serve as a liaison with campus departments and external vendors.

· Maintain communications with stakeholders and ensure timely follow-up.

· Independently organize and pack supplies for all events.

· Greet and assist prospective students and families visiting campus.

· Provide public speaking support, including giving campus tours when needed.



Marginal Functions:

· Data entry, phone support, and mailing of recruitment materials.

· Maintain and operate office equipment (printers, laminators, laptops, iPads, golf carts).

· Delegate tasks to Events Assistant and monitor the Events and Welcome Center inbox when needed.

 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma and 4+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
  • Strong communication skills, including public speaking and writing.
  • Understanding of branding and brand consistency.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently under deadline pressure.
  • Proficiency in word processing and database systems.
  • Enthusiastic support of UNF and its programs.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
