Like all engineers at Benzinga, you’ll shape both the products and the architecture they’re built on—impacting millions of investors and traders. We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and inspires their team to deliver exceptional user experiences.
Responsibilities
● Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of frontend engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
● Architect and build high-performance React applications for Benzinga Pro, Benzinga.com, and emerging financial tools.
● Drive adoption of modern frontend practices: TypeScript, Next.js, and efficient state management (e.g., React Query or Context API).
● Collaborate cross-functionally with backend, product, and design teams to define and
deliver impactful features.
● Optimize performance, scalability, and accessibility across our web applications.
● Use AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development—while ensuring robust, maintainable, and human-reviewed code.
● Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and deployment workflows.
● Debug production issues and proactively improve stability and observability.
● Participate in sprint planning, architecture discussions, and product ideation.
Requirements
● 5+ years of professional frontend development experience.
● Proven experience leading teams or significant projects in a production environment.
● Deep knowledge of React, TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
● Experience with Next.js or similar frameworks for server-side rendering and routing.
● Familiarity with testing tools like Jest and React Testing Library.
● Strong understanding of performance optimization, accessibility standards, and modern build tools (e.g., Turbopack, Vite, Webpack).
● Comfort collaborating in a fast-paced, agile environment with CI/CD pipelines.
● Bonus experience with:
○ Financial markets or fintech products.
○ Kubernetes, SQL (MySQL/Postgres), or MongoDB.
○ Feature flags, A/B testing, or observability tools.
○ Startup or entrepreneurial experience.
● Excellent communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
