The Opportunity

The Manager Software Engineering - Merch Integration will lead and contribute to development activities supporting Integrating Merchandising Systems with the Enterprise as part of the strategic and transformation initiatives. As part of the Integration team supporting the strategic and transformative programs, you will provide expertise and guide integration frameworks, standards, and designs. As a manager, you will also help in building and maturing teams and managing their performance through well-defined career goals. The Software Engineering manager will develop and foster close relations with important partners within the business organization and the IT organization to understand their requirements and to help shape the implementation roadmap supporting strategic business goals. You will report to the Director Software Engineering - Merchandising. This is a hybrid position in West Chester, PA.

Your Impact

  • Technical & Strategic Leadership: Lead the Merch Integration team, offering expertise, coaching and mentoring. Drive technology strategy, standards, and best practices (including tools, technologies, and design patterns) for improved overall developer experience and productivity
  • Architecture & Integration: Partner with Architecture teams to align integrations with enterprise standards. Lead feasibility studies and efforts to improve or consolidate legacy systems and build critical new integrations.
  • Champion DevOps Practices: Partner with enablement and platform teams to define and promote strategies that grow the team's capabilities and workflows.
  • Collaboration & Partnership: Advise and partner with clients and external contractors to define technology requirements, provide solutions, and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Operational Excellence: Resolve operational issues, lead the evolution of support procedures, and define best practices for documentation and processes.
  • Team & Resource Management: Manage projects and team assignments, monitor work quality, and assist leadership with hiring and budget goals.

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of related industry experience
  • Expertise in leading systems integrations through messaging, service based and event driven architecture
  • Experience with different technologies in building scalable architecture supporting high-volume and real-time integrations
  • Experience in Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing and Continuous Deployment
  • Experience with Agile methodology (Scrum)
  • Experience with highly scaled, highly available, highly performant, and secure integration platforms
  • Experience leading individuals, contract personnel and providing technical direction
  • Excellent decision-making skills and sound thought leadership
  • Experience in a technical leadership role for a large enterprise-class system
