The Director of DTR Strategy & Operational Excellence is responsible for driving enterprise-wide transformation and continuous improvement across Distribution, Transportation, and Repair. This role leads strategic initiatives, builds and executes operational excellence frameworks, and ensures alignment with AGR’s vision of Excellence Everywhere Everyday. The Director serves as a key integrator—partnering with senior leadership, regional DCs, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver sustained performance improvements, cost efficiencies, and world-class Guest Experience outcomes

JOB DUTIES:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Lead the development and execution of DTR’s long-term strategic roadmap (2025–2026 and beyond).
    • Align initiatives with corporate goals, ensuring measurable impact on Guest Experience, cost optimization, and efficiency.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Develop, implement, and monitor Lean Six Sigma / Focus Discipline–based operating models across all RDCs.
    • Standardize SOPs across DTR, ensuring One AGR Way of execution.
    • Build and manage operational scorecards (LiFT, RiFT, ThruPut, $/Pc, CPH).
  • Transformation & Project Management
    • Direct cross-functional initiatives including WMS migrations (HighJump, Storis), RDC relocations, racking/safety enhancements, and 3PL integrations.
    • Ensure AFEs, capital projects, and technology implementations are delivered on time, on budget, and with defined ROI.
  • Financial Performance Clarity
    • Partner with Finance to drive expense reduction, budget accuracy, and forecasting clarity.
    • Lead analysis of DTR Red vs Yellow financial performance; develop actionable plans to close gaps.
  • Culture & Leadership Development
    • Embed DTR mission, vision, and values into everyday practices across 29 RDCs.
    • Partner with HR/People Development to enhance leadership capability and engagement.
    • Reinforce recognition and accountability frameworks (Employee of the Month, WIGs, Rally Cries).
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Collaborate across Supply Chain, IT, Real Estate, Finance, HR, and external 3PL partners.
    • Act as a senior point of escalation for operational challenges impacting service and cost.

Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE

·       Proven track record of leading enterprise transformation and large-scale project execution.

·       Strong financial acumen; experience managing budgets, AFEs, and cost-reduction initiatives.

·       Demonstrated success in building and scaling performance scorecards/metrics.

·       Experience with Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or equivalent process improvement methodologies

EDUCATION

·       Bachelor’s degree preferred but will work with experience.

·       Proficiency with Microsoft suite tools including Word, PPT, and Excel. Required.

·       A combination of education and experience will be considered.

WORK PARAMETERS

·       Hybrid: HQ, RDCs, remote, and on-site presence as required.

·       Travel: ~40% North America (RDC visits, summits, project execution).

·       Flexible schedule, including evenings/weekends during peak initiatives.

·       Must maintain valid driver’s license, passport, and ability to travel
