Stanmore Resources is an Australian resources company with mining operations and exploration projects in the Bowen and Surat Basins. Due to our growth we have an opportunity for a part time specialist (3 days per week) to support our 3 operational assets.
Job Description:Working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, this role will be responsible for supporting the delivery and enhancement of Stanmore's Social Performance programmes, with a focus on community engagement. This will include:
Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with community members, organisations, government bodies, Traditional Owners, and NGOs.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and act as the primary contact for community concerns.
- Represent Stanmore at community events and interactions.
Community Relations & Development
- Manage formal stakeholder relations and implement community investment programmes.
- Oversee Stanmore's social investment plan, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Support local employment, training, and business participation initiatives.
Social Risk & Compliance
- Identify, assess, and manage social risks and opportunities associated with Stanmore's operations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and internal policies.
- Maintain stakeholder management records and prepare reports on social performance outcomes.
Strategy & Leadership
- Manage the implementation and development of Stanmore's Social Performance Strategy and Action Plan.
- Provide mentoring and training for internal teams on social performance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate social performance into business planning and operations.
- Provide high-level advice to the Executive on emerging social risks, opportunities, and trends.
Qualifications:
To be a success you will need:
- Minimum 5 – 7 years' experience (preferably in the mining industry) in a similar role
- Good understanding of social, economic, environmental and governance trends within the resource industry and the Bowen Basin in Queensland
- Strong research skills and ability to analyse and interpret data to create reports
- Knowledge of relevant legislation.
