Wilson Farm is seeking a talented and motivated First Commis / Chef de Partie to join our culinary team. This hands-on role is responsible for producing high-quality prepared food items for our retail stand, ensuring excellence, consistency, and efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong technical cooking skills, a passion for American-French cuisine, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment. Starting hourly rate of pay $21.00, commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the kitchen team to prepare and produce all food items for sale in the retail stand, following established recipes and quality standards.
Take full ownership of assigned station, including organization, preparation, and cleanliness.
Ensure that all menu items are prepared on time and meet Wilson Farm’s high standards for taste, presentation, and safety.
Work collaboratively with team members and assist other stations as needed to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines.
Maintain an organized and efficient work area, ensuring proper rotation and storage of ingredients.
Actively contribute to a positive and respectful team culture.
Requirements
3–5 years of professional kitchen experience, preferably in an American-French cooking environment.
Serv-Safe Certified a plus.
Strong culinary skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
Ability to thrive under pressure.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Flexibility to work a 50-hour workweek; must be reliable, punctual, and comfortable with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holiday
Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours).
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cold, and various cooking equipment.
· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
· Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced setting
· Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods, both indoors and outdoors
