General Description: The Cafeteria Manager directs and participates in all food service operations in the assigned school according to federal, state and local policies.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Supervises and/or performs the duties of cafeteria workers
- Plans and coordinates the work effort of food service staff
- Supervises and assists in the preparation and cooking of food to ensure proper temperature, palatability, and appearance of food
- Serves well balanced, nutritious meals to students
- Promotes the educational aspects of the program to students, teachers and the community
- Determines the types and quantities of food and supplies needed, and purchases and supervises the receipt and storage of all food and supplies
- Assists in hiring food service personnel
- Trains, supervises, and evaluates each employee in accepted food service practices and health codes
- Performs frequent inspection of mechanical equipment and reports issues
- Supervises the upkeep and sanitation of all food and nutrition facilities and equipment
- Maintains financial records and menus
- Prepares communications and reports, as needed
- Performs related duties as required or assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- ServSafe Certification
- Successful experience in large capacity food service
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal training in Food Service
This is a 183 day position/7.5 hr per day position.
