The Operations Analyst I provides regularly scheduled operational reporting on Customer related activities and is responsible for identifying trends and areas of opportunity to drive revenue through data-driven analysis, workflow analysis, auditing, report development of KPI’s and dashboards for both Custom sales and customer experience teams. The business analyst is relied upon to develop and execute data and analytics strategy, in support of defined business goals. The business analyst is deeply knowledgeable and engaged with the daily end-to-end performance of the teams they support to connect data insights to real-world outcomes. This individual should be technically savvy, with an analytical mindset, while also having the ability to work cross-functionally with several teams and individuals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Analytics Strategy Development & Implementation
- Drive improvement and expansion of analytics resources within the organization
- Ability to solve business questions deriving insights from data and presenting solutions in a logical and convincing way
- Strong knowledge of applicable business segments and curiosity to expand understanding
- Full stack development capabilities to develop both frontend and backend for dashboards and reporting
- Develop reporting to give clarity on both financial and non-financial metrics
- Assist in the analysis and escalation of key issues identified from exception reports and audits of areas such as customer ordering process, customer communication pipelines, workflow efficiencies, expense reductions, revenue growth, etc.
Reporting & Communication
- Build/refine, deliver and ideally automate valuable reports, dashboards, insights and recommendations on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis
- Participates in the development of presentations and business plans, ability to present data in a meaningful way
- Ability to connect data and analytic analysis with real-world actions and outcomes
- Able to help make complex data sets and report analytics approachable and understandable to individuals across the organization
Data-Integrity
- Help drive data accuracy and clarity across all facets of the organization
- Work closely with IT department to ensure relevant data is properly captured and retained
- Ensures both lead and lag measures are measured effectively and accurately
- Stay up to date with data-management trends and best practices
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communicator (visual, written and verbal) and a creative thinker with the ability to use data to inform decisions
- Highly collaborative, able to establish and maintain relationships and displays strong leadership abilities to influence and work cross-functionally
- Excellent time management, multi-task oriented, organized and keen sense of personal accountability. Is highly motivated with strong work ethics and demonstrated flexibility to meet tight deadlines
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Marketing, Computer Science or similar
- 1 – 2 years of experience in Customer or Operational Analytics or related field preferred
- Understanding of retail / accounting math and metrics
- Proficient in Excel & Power BI
- Able to understand and create complex data models
- Effective in both written and verbal communication to technical and non-technical audiences
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Required to have close visual acuity to perform computer tasks and operate other office machinery.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with internal and external customers and must be able to exchange accurate information in a clear manner.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (seated) 80% of the day and occasionally reach, bend, and move inside the office to access files and product.
- Able to hear and effectively communicate with peers.
- Able to move 10-20 lbs. occasionally throughout the day.
