Enterprise Activation & AI Engineering (EAAE) team leads the charge in delivering cutting-edge AI and ML solutions across the organisation. We operate the Enterprise AI Hub, driving strategy, architecture, and engineering excellence in AI, ML, and Generative AI. 

We’re seeking a Principal AI Domain Architect to define and lead the enterprise-wide AI technology strategy & architecture. This is a hands-on, visionary role where you’ll architect scalable AI platforms, tooling, and governance frameworks, and support the uplift of AI engineering practices across IAG. 

 

Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Architect and scale AI, ML, and Generative AI platforms, development and deployment patterns, including MLOps, LLMOps, and AgentOps practices across IAG. 

  • Advocate and derive AI engineering strategy, standards, and roadmaps to uplift enterprise-wide AI capabilities. 

  • Collaborate with and enable cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered applications in safe and efficient way and ensure alignment with business and technical goals. 

  • Lead thought leadership and mentorship within IAG’s AI Builder community, promoting best practices and innovation. 

  • Champion ethical AI governance and contribute to architecture rituals, technical reviews, and the AI Tech Radar. 

 

This is a permanent role with exciting opportunities for growth and learning, open to candidates based in Gadigal Country (Sydney), and Naarm (Melbourne). 

 

About You  

  • 6+ years of experience in AI/ML lifecycle, cloud architecture, and AI-driven solutions. 

  • Deep expertise in ML, GenAI and Agentic technologies including Transformer Architecture, RLHF, Pre- and post-training objective alignment, run-time inference, simulation-based agents and so on. 

  • Hands-on experience with end 2 end AI/ML engineering as well as generic engineering tooling including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms. 

  • Experience with GenAI tools and frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, Google ADK, OpenAI Agent SDK and RAG setups. 

  • Proven ability to scale AI platforms in complex, regulated environments (e.g., financial services). 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
