The Role:

We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of backend data platform capabilities that power Imply’s observability and security offerings. This role will focus on how customers ingest, store, and manage large volumes of time-series and event data in the most efficient, scalable, and cost-effective way possible.

You’ll work closely with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to define the roadmap for data management  features—spanning ingestion, querying, and retention. While this is a backend-focused role, your work will be instrumental to the front-end capabilities we offer customers, such as log analytics, threat investigation, and system observability.

We are looking for someone who combines deep technical curiosity, strong execution skills, and a collaborative mindset. At Imply, we believe diverse backgrounds lead to stronger teams, and we welcome product managers who have taken varied paths to get here.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the product roadmap for data management capabilities that support observability and security use cases
  • Partner with engineering to prioritize and deliver features such as high-scale ingestion, tiered storage, compression, compaction, and retention management
  • Deeply understand customer needs for ingesting, storing and querying observability and security data—translate those into clear product requirements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and customer success to ensure strong GTM execution and adoption of backend capabilities that unlock end-user value
  • Drive performance benchmarking, cost modeling, and usability improvements that enhance the total customer experience
  • Represent the voice of the customer internally and help shape a culture of customer-centric product development

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of product management experience in B2B software, with a focus on infrastructure, observability, security, or data platforms
  • Experience working with complex distributed systems or backend services for data ingestion, storage, and access
  • Strong technical fluency—you can navigate architecture discussions with engineers and evaluate trade-offs in scalability, latency, and cost
  • Proven track record of taking technically complex features to market, with high customer impact and adoption
  • Clear and concise communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Passion for customer problems, curiosity to dig deep into use cases, and a bias for action

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working on observability or SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Datadog, New Relic
  • Familiarity with open-source technologies such as OpenTelemetry, Fluent Bit, OCSF
  • Exposure to Apache Druid, Kafka, or other modern data infrastructure stacks
  • Background in data engineering or database management

  • 100% Paid Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits
  • 401(k) Program
  • Fertility Coverage
