The Marketing Automation Specialist will support and help scale marketing efforts for the Digital Learning customer relationship management (CRM) system. This position will design, deliver, and implement prospective Digital Learning communications using communication automation products and integrations that allow for efficient and effective targeting, acquisition, and nurturing of students. This includes working closely with key partners in Digital Learning to fully understand the Digital Learning business process and how our automation tools can streamline the processes. Works dails in the communications QA process to ensure university brand standards and quality control. Champions digital engagement efforts including, but not limited to email, SMS, ringless voicemail drops, dialer campaigns, chatbots, and digital remarketing.

Responsibilities

Communication & Automation

  • Build and send marketing automation campaigns, including email, SMS, ringless voicemail, etc.
  • Design and manage customer journeys, including segmentation, personalization, and automation, while continuously mapping, sequencing, and optimizing touchpoints for all audiences. 
  • Create, optimize, and manage email marketing campaigns, including designing email templates, A/B testing, and optimizing open and click-through rates. Ensure high deliverability and engagement rates.
  • Develop and maintain data rules and populations and data relationships across all shared Slate instances. 
  • Manage and adhere to a rigorous QA process that ensures the quality delivery of all marketing activity

Reporting & Analytics

  • Assist with the development of a framework for the management and review of all marketing activities delivered through the automation tools. 
  • Create and analyze campaign performance and conversion reports.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, providing insights for continuous improvement.
  • Recommend Slate best practices that will enhance marketing efforts through efficiency and accuracy. 

Relationship Development

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology team members, content creators, and data analysts, to ensure successful campaign execution and reporting.
  • Support team members using marketing automation tools and best practices for campaign management.
  • Provide exceptional relationship management by creating synergies with internal teams and occasionally external partners. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, marketing, information sciences, data architecture

Experience: 

  • 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, and/or higher education (recruitment, admissions, enrollment, student services, student success preferred) or combination of other relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s Degree

Experience: 

  • 5 years experience in email marketing, building audience-focused communications, and/or omni-channel marketing 
  • Higher education experience (recruitment, admissions, enrollment, student services, or student success communications)
  • Demonstrated experience in Slate or similar Higher Ed focused CRM

Work Location 

  • Knoxville, TN. This position does have the potential for a hybrid working capacity.
