Looking for a bright, hardworking, and independent individual to fill a one year committed, paid intern position immediately. The Vendor Management Office is responsible for reviewing and procuring hardware, software, and service contracts for use by the Church. Interns are responsible for reviewing Low-Cost Software contracts, processing staff requests, and supporting the Vendor Management team on a number of projects.
This position is primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used for providing valuable educational experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in an actual work setting. Under general supervision, the Intern performs work as assigned by the department.
The hours worked must be during normal working hours, Monday through Friday. Hours worked will not exceed 20 hours per week. The intern will report directly to their hiring manager, but may be involved with projects from multiple team members. This internship position represents a unique and exciting opportunity to work with highly skilled professionals and contribute to the Lord's work in a meaningful way. The intern would be a part of an innovative, spiritual, and motivated team and culture. The internship will be given experience with IT contracting and procurement.
The position is working with the Vendor Management Office (VMO), with offices located at the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City, UT or the Riverton Office Building in Riverton, UT. The specific location of the intern’s working location is anticipated to be at the Riverton Office Building in Riverton, UT, with one day a week working in the office and other days working remotely.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may vary by assignment depending on department and need. The intern receives assignments from VMO team members. Work is reviewed by the supervisor and, at times, by the team manager.
Interns are expected to do the following:
- Meet rigid and challenging deadlines
- Work in harmony with other people
- Follow explicit direction on each assignment
- Give full attention to details and be a quick learner
- Demonstrate independence in working on given assignments, yet proactive in seeking direction and assignments from team members
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and master new processes and systems
Exercise sound judgment of Church doctrine, organization, policy and protocol
Qualifications
Must be enrolled in an accredited college institution or within one year of your graduation date.
