The role
VP of Engineering
We’re seeking an exceptional Head of Engineering or VP of Engineering to own the technical vision and execution of our clients product platform while building and scaling our engineering team.
You will lead and mentor a team of 7 engineers across backend, frontend, and AI, driving technical excellence while ensuring strong alignment with business objectives. This role requires both hands-on architectural depth and strategic leadership as we grow rapidly.

Strategic Technology Leadership: Define and execute our long-term technical strategy, balancing immediate delivery needs with scalable architecture for future growth.
Team Building & Management: Lead, coach, and expand a team of 7 engineers into a high-performing, collaborative group. Shape culture, set technical standards, and mentor engineers at all levels.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Product, Design, and AI teams to shape product strategy and roadmap, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with company goals.
Architectural Oversight: Guide the evolution of our systems architecture, ensuring security, scalability, reliability, and performance as we integrate complex financial and AI-driven features.
Operational Excellence: Establish engineering best practices in development, testing, deployment, and monitoring, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do
Lead, grow, and manage a team of 7 engineers across multiple disciplines.
Own engineering delivery, ensuring high-quality, scalable systems are shipped quickly and reliably.
Define and evolve BuiltAI’s architecture, guiding decisions across backend, frontend, data, and AI integration.
Partner with Product leadership to shape the roadmap and ensure technical feasibility of new initiatives.
Build a culture of ownership, learning, and technical excellence within the engineering team.
Oversee hiring, onboarding, and retention of top engineering talent.
Establish operational best practices including testing, deployment pipelines, system monitoring, and incident response.
Represent engineering in leadership discussions, aligning technology with overall company strategy.
What You’ll Bring
Track record as an engineering leader (Head of Engineering, VP, or senior manager role).
Strong technical expertise across the stack (Python, React, SQL/NoSQL, AWS, Docker).
Experience building and scaling teams in a start-up or high-growth environment.
Proven ability to manage engineering delivery while fostering innovation and quality.
Excellent communication skills—able to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus: Experience in proptech, fintech, FP&A, or other AI-heavy domains
