The Engineering Lab Supervisor is responsible for the function of the Engineering Lab. This individual will assign tasks to the Engineering Technicians and prioritize the work done in the Lab. The Engineering Lab Supervisor is responsible for mentoring individuals assigned to the Lab and in meeting deadlines for completion of work assigned to the Lab.
Connected Development is a leading contract design engineering company specializing in IoT wireless technology. This position will report to the Director, Engineering. This position will be onsite in Auburn Hills, MI.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assign tasks to the Engineering Technicians and prioritize the work done in the lab.
Supervise and mentor Engineering Technicians on the performance of their duties.
Diagnose causes of malfunctions or failures and perform corrective maintenance.
Lead customer interface effort and reporting of information.
Install and check machinery, equipment, circuitry, and components according to established procedures and specifications.
Analyze, test, and conduct routine maintenance of electrical systems, components and equipment.
Record data, recommended modifications or replacement of failed equipment or parts.
Document daily operational activities and record tool and parts inventory.
Assemble, test, and modify prototype and operational electrical machinery, electrical control equipment, electrical circuit boards, and components according to engineering specifications.
Develop test procedures and perform time studies for rework, reprogramming and inspection of materials.
Perform routine maintenance on lab equipment and work with vendors to repair, maintain and calibrate lab equipment.
Work with XTG quality to obtain lab credentials and certifications.
Develop and implement advance troubleshooting equipment and processes in order to pull forward advanced diagnostics of Display technologies. Work with customer to development testing processes and procedures and work instructions.
Additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED with at least five years’ experience in overseeing an Engineering Lab required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Engineering design industry experience preferred.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
- Component soldering skills an asset.
- Hands-on knowledge of lab equipment.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Microsoft Office Tools suite working knowledge
- Ability to lead a team.
