Hilltop Securities is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Operations Specialist to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This position will support the end-to-end process of transferring customer accounts between financial institutions, ACATS (Automated Customer Account Transfer Service). This role is critical to ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in securities processing, and demands a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

 

Responsibilities

 Learn and Support Account Transfers

  • Process daily account transfers (ACATS and Non-ACATS) with guidance from experienced team members.
  • Work with internal teams and external brokerage firms to ensure transfers are completed accurately and on time.

Deliver Excellent Customer Service

  • Respond to client and team inquiries about account transfers.
  • Provide updates and help resolve issues with professionalism and care.

Gain Oversight Experience

  • Assist with reviewing transfer requests and identifying any issues.
  • Learn how to escalate concerns and ensure compliance with deadlines and regulations.

Improve Processes

  • Contribute ideas to improve how we work and make operations more efficient.

Stay Compliant

  • Learn industry regulations and company policies to ensure all work meets required standards.

Collaborate Across Teams

  • Work closely with other departments and external partners to solve problems and deliver great service.
 

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field—or equivalent experience.
  • Prior internship or customer service experience is a plus.
  • FINRA SIE and Series 99 licenses preferred (or willingness to obtain with company support).

Skills & Traits

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication—clear, professional, and friendly.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office 365 (especially Outlook and Excel).
