DRIVER (P.A.C.E)

Must be 25 or older to be insured by the company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation. Must be able to meet Carolina SeniorCare's auto insurance carrier's standards for coverage.

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Valid North Carolina Driver's License required. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required (will certify on site).

2. Experience: Have a minimum of one years' experience in working with the frail elderly in some capacity.

  • Able to read and understand maps and routing information to navigate within the service area.
  • Able to handle information in a confidential manner at all times.
  • Able to deal professionally and diplomatically with people.
  • Must be flexible, and able to function in stressful situations.
  • Requires individual who can coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with participants, caregivers, and co-workers.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for Carolina SeniorCare passengers during transport, providing care in a manner which ensures participant satisfaction. Transports participants to and from medical/specialist appointments, and activity outings, as requested by the Interdisciplinary Team via the plan of care.

2. Follows assigned schedule, makes adjustments to meet unanticipated changes, while considering the needs of the participant and requirements of the PACE Center. Communicates these changes to dispatch.

3. Operates equipment safely and in compliance with vehicle licensing regulations.

4. Maintains and completes daily required records i.e., Pre- and Post-Trip Inspections, gasoline purchases.

5. Immediately reports, to Transportation Coordinator, any vehicle or cell phone operating problems, malfunction, or incidents out of the ordinary routine.

6. Transports meals, durable medical equipment, pharmacy, and any other items as deemed necessary for participant.

7. Provides physical assistance to each participant when needed as he/she boards and debarks from the program’s vehicles.


Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
