Job Summary:
The Co-Manufacturing Supervisor - Enrobing is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the enrobing lines during assigned shifts. This role ensures consistent product quality, operational efficiency, and team performance. The Co-Manufacturing Supervisor - Enrobing ensures compliance with food safety standards and company policies while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence.
Responsibilities of the Position:
- Supervise enrobing line operations to ensure optimal throughput and minimal downtime.
- Supervise and coach enrobing team members; manage staffing and performance.
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics and quality checks.
- Support improvements in yield, waste reduction, and equipment efficiency.
- Coach and train Operators in new procedures and skills.
- Onboard new employees and manage continued training.
- Review and revise standard operating procedures in Dozuki.
- Monitor coating consistency, weight control, and appearance. Communicate food safety concerns and potential quality issues with the Quality team.
- Inform the Maintenance team of machine/equipment issues and submit work requests.
- Work with the Warehouse team to guarantee material is brought to the lines in a timely manner and monitor accurate tracking of pallets (ghost pallets).
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure proper use of PPE and equipment.
- Communicate safety as the number one priority for employees by encouraging safe work practices and immediately addressing safety concerns.
- Present weekly Toolbox Talks and participate in monthly safety meetings.
- Complete accident reports and perform root cause analysis using the 5 Whys method.
- Identify and coach employee behaviors, monitor and decrease employee hazards
- Support sanitation of enrobing rooms and equipment per company standards.
- Maintain a positive work environment to ensure creative werks is the employer of choice for all employees. Support and coach the activities of assistant supervisors, team leads, and operators.
- Mediate and deescalate conflicts between employees.
- Adhere to all creative werks policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety and food safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Understanding of enrobing equipment and chocolate tempering processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Knowledge of SQF and GMP regulations
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in production documentation and basic computer systems
- Ability to read, write and understand English work instructions
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is required
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in food manufacturing, with exposure to enrobing or chocolate processing
- Prior supervisory experience in a production environment preferred
Food Safety Responsibilities:
- Attend all food safety training sessions (GMP, SQF, HACCP, Allergen, Food Facility Security, Preventing Foodborne Illness)
- Participate in company GMP walks
- Enforce company rules regarding food safety and monitoring
Working Conditions:
- Office setting and warehouse environment with temperature range of 55 – 80 degrees
- Handling of food ingredients and powered industrial equipment
- This position requires the employee to be on-call at all times to respond to any emergency
- This position may require the employee to work weekends or shifts other than their own to meet the needs of the business
Physical Requirements:
- Operate standard office equipment.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
- Stand and/or walk continuously for 8–12 hours a day.
- Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, all with or without reasonable accommodation.
