QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelors preferred
- Previous experience working with people with disabilities, minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities and work with limited supervision.
- Possession of a valid NYS Drivers License.
- Must be able to work weekend and evening hours as directed by the Assistant and Residential Director
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the daily operation of the residence.
- Ensure staffing schedule is completed per program requirements.
- Provides coverage for shifts as needed to ensure staffing needs are met
- Provides on-call availability to the program for emergency situations and guidance as needed
- Assist with transportation to and from work, day program and medical appointments as required/needed.
- Monitor and supervise the implementation of consumer goals, ongoing services, and staff actions.
- Provide coordination of all services and support in the areas of: medical/dental, nutritional, psychological/behavioral and therapeutic (i.e. OT, PT, speech, social work, etc.).
- Ensure that residential staff are knowledgeable of all medical/clinical recommendations, prescription/orders and follow up care and that there is an understanding of their role in providing care and treatment.
- Directly supervise and evaluate Direct Support Professionals and Support Staff.
- Provide hands-on training of staff in delivery of all services.
- Develop a schedule with the Director of Residential and coordinate staff in-service training programs and maintain training records on site for the house.
- Ensure staff remain up to date and current on all required trainings
- When necessary, complete all responsibilities as outlined in the Direct Care Support Professional job description.
- Participate in the development and implementation of their consumers’ habilitation plan in conjunction with the ISP/CFA formulated as part of interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Screen and assist in the hire process for all non-exempt staff for the house.
- Participate with the Director of Residential in the on-going development and organization of the house.
- Ensure that the daily operation of the facility adheres to applicable Federal, State and Local regulations and Agency policies and procedures.
- Safeguard and maintain all necessary records in compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulations and Agency policies and procedures.
- Monitor daily and on-going maintenance issues for the house.
- Responsible for managing consumer funds, petty cash and all other financial transactions and insuring accurate documentation and accounting on a daily basis.
- Adhere to program budget
- Responsible for the safety of staff and the persons served under his/her supervision.
- Adhere to the Agency’s Corporate Compliance Plan and Code of Ethical Conduct.
- Perform any other related duties as directed by the Assistant Director of Residential and/or designee.
