We are seeking a Central Sterile Processing Technician also referred to as our Central Supply Tech or SPD Processor. The Sterile Technician plays a critical role in maintaining patient safety by preventing infection and ensuring sterile conditions throughout the hospital or healthcare facility.

Employment Type: Full-time
Hours: 8-hour shift
Location: St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, MO

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Responsible for decontamination, preparation, sterilization of central sterile trays, instruments and equipment
- Inventory and restocking of supplies
- Computer data entry and patient charge card batching
- Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations within facility and ability to access all departments
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates detailed awareness and knowledge of patient supplies and equipment
Education and Work Experience
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- Completion of a Sterile Processing program
- High school diploma or equivalent or GED equivalent
- Ability to read, comprehend and communicate effectively in writing
- Skills to maintain active communications with surgical staff
- Current BLS (AHA)
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
- At least one (1) year experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting, but will provide competency based orientation for all staff, including new graduates
- Minimum 6 months acute patient care facility
- Sterile Processing Certification recommended
- Medical terminology knowledge
