Your Role
As Head of Development, you will take overall responsibility for the Development discipline in Berlin – spanning Backend, Frontend, Embedded, Architecture and DevOps. You are a key part of the local leadership and contribute directly to the ongoing success of our location.

Your responsibilities include:
- Discipline Leadership: Lead, motivate and coach a diverse and experienced development team, while also supporting junior talent like apprentices.
- People Management: Own all aspects of the employee lifecycle – from hiring to exit – including performance management, promotions, development planning and compensation decisions.
- Operational Responsibility: Ensure effective staffing of projects, align with business priorities, track key delivery and talent KPIs, and provide regular reporting to the Country Manager.
- Client Engagement: Actively participate in presales and early-stage delivery shaping. Represent Endava’s development capability to technical stakeholders in client organizations.
- Community & Culture: Foster a collaborative, high-trust culture that values initiative, innovation and continuous improvement. You’ll be a visible and approachable leader – someone the team can rely on both professionally and personally.
Qualifications:
- Significant leadership experience in software engineering or consulting environments
- Solid technical background in one or more of our core stacks:
→ PHP/Symfony, Java/Spring Boot, NodeJS, Python (Data), React/NextJS, VueJS/Nuxt, GitLab CI/CD, GCP - Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage people
- Empathy and integrity as core leadership traits
- Fluency in German (C1/C2) and English
- Willingness to travel occasionally and to be present and approachable in the Berlin office
