Duties
Conducts technical and staff assistance visits to provides day-to-day functional and operational evaluation and assessment of Child and Youth Programs. Provides Air Force Level advisory services to installation level services personnel on matters affecting infants, children, and youth providing Air Force-Wide direction, technical guidance, evaluation, overall planning, training and administration of the Child and Youth Programs. Ensures operations are within guidelines of the Military Child Care Act of 1989 and 1996, the DoD Crime Control Act, DoDI 1402.5.Thoroughly reviews operational programs, facilities, personnel, and financial procedures. Ensures compliance with policies and regulations applicable to AF Child and Youth Programs. Provides on-site training and determines the need for programs to support, develop, and operate programs. Ensures applicable child development and school age programs maintain the both DoD certification and nationally accreditation standards. Ensures child abuse and neglect prevention and reporting and Reportable Incident procedures are followed (sentence is in the law; recommend keeping). Develops and conducts training/coaching/mentoring (virtually and in person).Develops and implements parent participation activities. Analyzes and interprets program data to determine areas that require great staff attention. Uses designated evaluation materials to ensure assigned area is in compliance with AF standards and metrics. Collects, maintains and reports program participation data. Trouble shoots child development related problems at base level and coordinates corrective actions with HQ AFSVC/SVPYC. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: Must have a bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education, or other degree appropriate to the position filled from an accredited college. Must have progressive responsible experience working in child and youth programs and early childhood settings. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Experience with Department of Defense Child and Youth Programs. **NOTE: Those qualified applicants who meet both the minimum qualification requirement(s) and highly preferred criteria(s) will be considered best qualified for this position and will be referred to the selecting official(s) first for consideration. Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
