Ready to Engineer the Future with AI at Suki?

Are you a Software Engineer with a passion for building robust, scalable systems? Do you thrive on solving complex reliability challenges and dream in code? At Suki, we're not just an AI-first company; we're fundamentally rethinking healthcare with AI, and our infrastructure is the bedrock of this revolution.

We're looking for a talented Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – someone with a strong backend software engineering experience – to join our dynamic Core Infrastructure team. This isn't your typical SRE role; it's a chance to blend deep code expertise with operational excellence, directly impacting the lives of clinicians and patients.

As a pivotal member of our team, you won't just maintain systems; you'll innovate. You'll be instrumental in shaping the reliability, scalability, performance, and security of our critical cloud-native platforms, powered by a cutting-edge Kubernetes-based microservices architecture. And here's the exciting part: we see AI not just as our product, but as a powerful co-pilot for our SRE practice. You'll be at the forefront of leveraging AI to automate, predict, and optimize, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in site reliability.

If you're ready to champion SRE best practices, drive automation with an AI-first mindset, and ensure our platforms can support our rapid growth, all while making a tangible difference in healthcare, then we want to talk to you. This role demands both your software engineering prowess and your infrastructure wizardry.

Key Responsibilities You'll Own:

  • Driving AI-Powered Operations: Lead initiatives to integrate AI into our SRE workflows for proactive anomaly detection, intelligent incident response, predictive capacity planning, and automated remediation. Your insights will help us build the next generation of self-healing infrastructure.
  • Software Engineering for SRE: Develop robust automation, tooling, and services in Python, Go, or similar languages to improve operational efficiency, system observability, and developer experience. You'll debug and analyze systemic problems, often stemming from customer-reported issues, to improve overall customer experience, identifying root causes and ensuring the right team drives the fix.
  • Kubernetes & Microservices Mastery: Manage and optimize our Kubernetes-based microservices platform, ensuring seamless deployments, efficient resource utilization, and resilient operations.
  • Incident & Problem Management: Take ownership of production incidents, drive root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventative measures to continuously improve system uptime and performance and participate in oncall rotation.
  • Security & Compliance Champion: Embed security best practices into our infrastructure, contributing to our HIPAA, SOC2, and future HITRUST compliance initiatives.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship: Partner closely with commercial and engineering teams to ensure their services are production-ready, share SRE knowledge, and foster a culture of shared ownership for reliability.

What We're Looking For:

  • A strong background in backend software engineering (Python, Go, Java, or similar).
  • Experience with cloud platforms, especially GCP, and Kubernetes in a production environment.
  • A genuine passion for Site Reliability Engineering principles and a desire to automate everything.
  • Excitement about leveraging AI to solve complex operational challenges and a curiosity to explore new frontiers in SRE tooling.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems and drive incidents to resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.

Must be willing to work from our Redwood City office at least 3x per week

This position requires a commitment to a hybrid work model, with the expectation of coming into the office a minimum of (3) three times per week. Relocation assistance is available for candidates willing to move to the Bay Area!

Join us and help build the future of AI-powered healthcare, one resilient system at a time.
