Sherwin-Williams is seeking a dynamic and strategic Sales Director for our Coil business in the EMEAI region. This role involves proactively developing, implementing, leading, and executing new business opportunities in both new and existing market areas. The Coil Coatings Sales Director will work closely with the regional Coil Executive GM and other functional leads, contributing significantly to the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of the Coil business in EMEAI, including sales, marketing, and P&L management. This position can be based anywhere in the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Strategic Direction and Execution: Develop and execute the strategic direction for the EMEAI Sales and Technical Service organization. Create a strategic sales plan to achieve short, mid, and long-term business objectives. Consistently deliver P&L targets with a focus on top and bottom-line growth.
  • Sales Plan Development: Ensure the development, implementation, and evaluation of country sales plans, including KPIs for each market/country. Support the setup and definition of country sales organizations to drive growth.
  • Customer Relationships: Identify key strategic regional customers and develop multi-level relationships to drive business growth. Lead change internally and externally to drive the Coil sales strategy.
  • Business Development: Actively drive the growth strategy by identifying new market opportunities. Collaborate with other functional managers to build concrete plans to win new business. Continuously assess commercial potential and adjust plans to ensure optimal profitability.
  • Internal Processes and Alignment: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to accelerate business growth. Bring the voice of the customer into collaboration with Marketing, Product Management, Finance, Operations, and R&D. Drive cross-functional improvement programs to enhance the customer journey and experience.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and manage the Sales and Technical Services team to accelerate growth in each country. Develop individual development and succession plans to achieve growth ambitions. Create an engaging environment that supports Sherwin-Williams’ corporate priorities. Drive performance evaluation and personal development of the Sales Teams in EMEAI.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, technical, or scientific area. MBA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years in a senior sales role, with at least 10 years leading senior sales professionals. 5 years in a Sales Director role within the coil coatings industry preferred.
  • Strong leadership with a focus on development and coaching.
  • Highly motivated self-starter capable of leading and adapting quickly to change.
  • Collaborative and professional approach with excellent strategic thinking and attention to detail.
  • Problem solver and independent thinker with strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven track record of working successfully as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrable numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel more than 50% of the time
