About Role:
As a Backend Developer Intern at GrowthX, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, contributing to the development and optimization of our innovative platform. Your role will involve working on a variety of exciting and impactful projects, including:
- Developing a Self-Built Video Service Platform: You'll play a key role in developing a robust video service platform designed to enhance learning experiences. This involves designing scalable backend systems to handle video streaming, storage, and playback efficiently. You will work on integrating video processing capabilities and ensuring a smooth, high-quality user experience.
- Building a Custom Editor with Real-Time Collaboration Features: Engage in developing a cutting-edge editor that supports real-time collaboration using WebSockets. This project will challenge you to implement features that allow multiple users to edit documents simultaneously while managing real-time updates and conflict resolution.
- Creating a Refined Feature Flagging and Segmentation Service: Work on a sophisticated system for feature flagging and user segmentation that enables dynamic customization of user experiences. This will involve designing a flexible backend that supports rolling out new features selectively and gathering insights on user interactions to drive targeted improvements.
- Building a System to Import Jobs for a Job Board: Develop a comprehensive backend system to import and aggregate job postings from various companies to populate our job board. This includes creating efficient data processing pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and implementing search and filter capabilities to enhance job-seeking experiences.
- Developing a Self-Evaluation Service Using GPT: Design and build a self-evaluation system that leverages GPT to assess assignments and provide detailed feedback. This involves integrating GPT for analyzing submissions, generating insightful feedback, and offering actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Implementing A/B Testing Frameworks: Work on developing and integrating A/B testing capabilities to analyze different versions of features and optimize user experiences. This includes designing backend systems to manage test variants, collect data, and analyze results to inform data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and prototype new features quickly to adapt to changing business needs.
- Build and maintain robust, scalable APIs to support our web clients.
- Manage and optimise AWS cloud deployments to ensure reliability and performance.
- Collaborate remotely with front-end developers and other teams to deliver seamless, high-quality features.
- Good understanding of computer science principles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Good understanding of APIs and RESTful services.
- Hands-on experience developing web applications using Python/Javascript.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB.
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
- (Optional) Knowledge of core AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda.
- Can work independently on projects and features.
- A strong willingness to learn new technologies and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience or internships at start-ups.
- Recent graduates or students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
