The Products & Engineering department is the Hub of our Product Development, with 14 agile, cross-functional Teams spread across three Product Domains: Consumer, Business, and Platform.


We are currently looking for a QA Automation Engineer (f/m/d) to join our Connect Team and help ensure the quality and stability of our Integrations with Third-Party Systems. If you're passionate about automation and improving Software quality, we want to hear from you!


Your Key Responsibilities as a QA Automation Engineer (f/m/d):

  • Manual and Automated Testing: Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for both internally and externally developed plugins (using tools like Jira, Xray, Python, JavaScript, Robot Framework, etc.).
  • Test Coverage Analysis: Review and enhance existing test cases to improve coverage and effectiveness.
  • E2E Test Suite Expansion: Continuously expand our existing automated end-to-end test suite to cover new functionalities and integrations.
  • CI/CD Integration: Assist with integrating automated tests into our CI pipeline (CircleCI) and monitor test outcomes.
  • QA Strategy Ownership: Take responsibility for refining and advancing the QA strategy and testing processes within your team.

A Typical Day as a QA Automation Engineer (f/m/d) at Trusted Shops:

  • Start your day by setting up your remote workspace or adjusting your desk at the office.
  • Collaborate with your Team to brainstorm and implement innovative Plugin Features for Shopify, Shopware, and other E-Commerce Platforms.
  • Dive into E-Commerce Platform documentation to prepare for the development of new Plugins.
  • Work closely with Colleagues from Product Management, Frontend and Backend Development, Architecture, QA, and Cloud Engineering to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
  • Lunch Break: either at Home or by exploring local Restaurants with Colleagues near the Office.
  • Analyze and resolve Technical Support issues for the Components you’ve built, applying quick fixes and improvements as needed.
  • Present your progress and results during regular reviews with key Stakeholders.
  • On your Self-Education Day (monthly), focus on personal growth with a self-directed learning agenda and no scheduled Meetings.
  • Wrap up the day with Team-building activities such as Waffle Day or enjoy a drink on the Rooftop Terrace.


Qualifications and Skills we’re looking For:

  • Educational Background: Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical training is a plus.
  • Manual Testing Expertise: Strong experience in manual testing of web applications.
  • Automation & Coding Skills: Hands-on experience in automated testing and familiarity with software development (knowledge of Python and Typescript is a plus).
  • API Testing Knowledge: Strong understanding of REST APIs and how to test them.
  • Test Framework Familiarity: Experience with various test frameworks and the ability to apply different testing methods throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Quality Advocate: Act as a testing consultant for engineers and champion a quality-first approach in your team.
  • Shift-Left Testing Enthusiast: Support and promote early testing in the development process to catch issues as early as possible.
  • Agile Environment Experience: Comfortable working in an agile setup, ideally with experience collaborating with third-party vendors.
  • Proactive & Collaborative: Eager to explore new testing approaches, share knowledge, and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent English communication skills (German is a plus) and interpersonal abilities, with a hands-on, results-driven attitude.
