Position at SBM Management

SBM Site Services has an immediate opening for a Buyer at our corporate headquarters in Sacramento, CA.  The Buyer is responsible for coordinating procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies for the organization.

 

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recommend products and/or services for Sr. Buyer and Sourcing review
  • Analyzes the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity is needed
  • Solicits and evaluates proposals for the requested commodity
  • Investigates and/or interviews potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements
  • Advises team members or management on the appropriate supplier to be used
  • Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs
  • Implements purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations
  • Assures that the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company
  • Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records
  • Coordinates appropriate methods needed to distribute commodity in a cost-effective manner. Order follow-up and resolving backorders
  • Assist Purchasing Team and Receiving by contacting Suppliers and request for missing documents (Packing Slips, COA’s and COC)
  • Assist and coordinate with Purchasing Team by working on Open Order Report and obtain current status and ETA’s
  • Process returns merchandise items back to Suppliers for damaged or incorrect shipments Follow up with Suppliers for missing order Acknowledgements/Order Confirmations Expedite orders
  • Update QC and PD logs with PO#’s and ETA’s

Compensation: $25.00 - $27.00/Hour
Benefits Include: Medical/Dental/Vision and 401k
Shift: 7am - 3:30pm
