Position Summary

The Membership Sales Officer is responsible for driving the growth and retention of the Rough Rider, Junior Rough Rider, and Business memberships at the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation (TRMF). This dynamic role combines sales, relationship building, and event coordination to maximize membership engagement and value, while promoting the unique offerings of TRMF venues for corporate retreats and meetings. 

Key Responsibilities

• Membership Growth: Proactively recruit new Rough Rider, Junior Rough Rider, and Business members through targeted outreach, marketing campaigns, and personalized follow-ups.
• Networking & Community Engagement: Represent TRMF at community events, networking opportunities, and local business gatherings to raise awareness and foster relationships that lead to membership growth. 
• Retention Management: Develop and execute retention strategies to maintain high levels of member satisfaction and engagement. Regularly communicate with members and address their needs to ensure continued participation. 
• Recruitment Campaigns: Design and implement innovative membership recruitment campaigns, leveraging email, social media, and print marketing. Track campaign performance and adjust tactics to achieve goals. 
• Corporate Retreats & Meetings: Identify and pursue opportunities to host corporate retreats and meetings at TRMF venues. Collaborate with organizations to showcase TRMF’s facilities and customize packages to meet client needs. 
• Reporting & Analytics: Monitor membership trends, campaign results, and feedback. Prepare regular reports for management to inform future strategies.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills, networking, and communications skills. 
• Ability to organize and participate in community events, manage multiple projects, and work collaboratively. 
• Demonstrated ability to achieve targets and deliver results under deadlines. 
• Passion for community building and the mission of TRMF. 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, hospitality, or related field preferred. 
• Previous experience in sales, community engagement, or membership management is highly desirable. 

Work Environment

The Membership Sales Officer will work closely with TRMF’s marketing and group event services teams, as well as community partners and members. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to support events and outreach activities. Will be required to spend 50-75% of time in Medora from June through September. 

Physical Requirements 

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. 
• Must be able to work long hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
