Job Summary:

We are seeking an execution-oriented supply chain professional with the ability to think creatively and strategically to maximize value creation for REV through the supply chain function.  This will include execution of the capital procurement process: from demand forecasting through RFP/RFQ and contract management.   This will also include strategic initiatives, including risk evaluation and mitigation, new category and supplier strategies, etc.  Importantly, the individual should partner effectively with internal stakeholders in Development, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Finance, Tax and Legal Teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Development, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Finance, Tax and Legal Teams on procurement activities for utility-scale storage, solar and wind projects.

Manage the strategic sourcing process for capital equipment, as follows:

  • Work with Development, Engineering and Construction teams to determine each project’s needs for owner furnished capital equipment.  Equipment may include batteries, solar modules, inverters, trackers, GSUs/MPT’s, breakers, control house, aux transformers, among others.
  • Execute RFPs/quotations, in collaboration with internal team.  Issue the RFP and lead supplier communications.
  • Build relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers.  Identify suppliers and shepherd technical qualification process. 
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Construction on Technical Specifications.
  • Monitor equipment/parts lead times to ensure alignment with project schedule.
  • Lead the RFP commercial evaluation, gaining input from the project team as required.  Coordinate with Engineering and Construction on the results of the technical evaluation.
  • Summarize bid results and make an award recommendation.
  • Negotiate the final contract in coordination with Engineering, Construction and Legal.  Ensure commercial provisions align with desired project outcomes.  
  • Achieve final signatures and kickoff agreement.
  • Monitor supplier manufacturing milestones to ensure progression of schedule.  Coordinate QA scope with third parties as required (in-line inspections, FAT witness, etc).
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts for supplier payments; work with Treasury and AP to ensure timely payments.
  • Track supplier performance metrics.   Incorporate lessons learned into future RFPs and contracts.
  • Ensure all procurement efforts support REV goals for safety as well as on-time, on-budget projects.
  • Support contract change order management. 
  • Identify and evaluate new category and supplier strategies 

Required Education/Skills/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of ten years’ direct experience procuring capital equipment, preferably for utility-scale BESS, solar and wind projects.
  • Knowledge of BESS, solar and wind power projects.  Familiarity with challenges and trends in the renewable industry.
  • Knowledge of project milestones for large power projects. 
  • Strategic thinker with ability to creatively solve problems and generate competitive advantage for the organization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and strong knowledge of the capital equipment supply base.  Solid knowledge of LD’s, guarantees, warranties and securities.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to sit/stand at a desk, using a computer workstation. 
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, walk; lift push or pull objects up to 20 pounds. 
  • Must be able to handle long periods of screen time and typing. 
  • Must be able to have effective time management skills, with the ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
