The Role

This role is responsible for growing the intravenous (IV) site management segment of the Infection Prevention and Surgical Solutions portfolio in Asia.  Asia comprises Japan, Korea, ANZ, India, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam as well as other emerging markets.

You will define the regional strategies in alignment with global directions; devise and implement programs to develop the market, generate clinical demand and drive accelerated growth.

Internal stakeholders include Global and Country Marketers, Clinical Specialists, Medical Affairs, as well as Integrated Marketing/Campaign team.  

This role reports to the Asia MedSurg Portfolio Marketing Director.

Role Accountabilities

Deliver Growth

  • Actively contribute to the achievement of Asia portfolio priorities and deliver on the business objectives and financial goals.

Portfolio Management

  • Drive sustainable growth by reinvigorating the portfolio, moving Asia to higher value clinically differentiated products.  Keep abreast of market and customer needs, identify portfolio opportunities and devise strategies and programs to address these opportunities.

New Product Commercialization

  • Lead new product launches in Asia by collaborating with key stakeholders to determine launch strategies, including gathering of market insights, go-to-market plan, pricing, launch packages as well as education and demand generation programs.
  • Work with key functional teams to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and optimize market access.
  • Set up rigorous process and cadence to ensure on-time delivery of launch milestones and achievement of KPIs.
  • Provide voice of market, ideas, local needs for new products and participate on global NPI teams, as needed.

Marketing Planning and Program Activation

  • Adapt global marketing plans, programs and campaigns to address Asia needs.
  • Partner with Integrated Marketing/Campaign team to develop and execute end-to-end omnichannel demand generation programs.  Provide customer/market insights to ensure content relevance; establish rigorous lead routing and qualification process by utilizing the SMP framework and martech stack (SFDC, Eloqua).
  • Enhance sales partnership and engagement. Work with country marketing teams to deliver programs, sales aids and contents to support field sales team.
  • Utilize data (point-of-sales, CRM, campaign analytics) to identify growth opportunities, devise customer targeting strategies, optimize program/campaign performance and for marking informed decisions.
  • Grow the Asia customer database, manage customer profiles and segments for effective campaign targeting.
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs team for customer education, voice of customer and KOL advocacy.
  • Manage marketing budget, ensuring effective program ROI.
  • Gather competitive intelligence, develop appropriate responses to address/counter competitor activities. Provide input to global team to inform their planning and programs.

Product and Pricing Management

  • Oversee the management of product life cycle (phase in/out), support countries in product demand forecasting and supply management.  Provide input into the IBP process.
  • Be responsible for price and margin management, in accordance with the global pricing corridor guidance, price-value positioning and market conditions.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a similar capacity in the medical device industry, including more than 5 years of regional experience in Asia.
  • Clinical experience in related disciplines such as IV therapy, infection control, critical care would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong commercial focus, able to adapt global strategies to local market needs
  • Proven track record to execute and drive results.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken. Fluency in second Asian language would be advantageous.
  • Independent, resourceful, able to influence and work collaboratively in a matrix organization and influence both global and country stakeholders.
  • Organized, hands-on, attention to details, ability to multi-task.
  • Digital marketing experience will be advantageous.
  • Travel required to support business objectives.

Education / Location:

  • Degree, preferably Masters, in Marketing, Business or Medical-related disciplines.
  • Located in Singapore.
