The Vehicle Electrification team based in in Bloomington is looking for an Engineering Technician II to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the development, evaluation, and launch of exciting, differentiated technologies to position us as a market leader in our target markets. Key responsibilities and qualifications to be a success in this role are listed below.
This role is onsite at our Bloomington, MN Office.
Role Responsibilities:
Set up and conduct a variety of tests including oil vapor and oil aerosol tests, thermal cycling, air flow and pressure cycling tests.
Perform tests according to internal procedures as well as ISO and other external standards
Utilize a variety of instrumentation, including thermocouples, pressure sensors, flowmeters, torque, and tensile/force testing
Preparation and assembly of prototype parts for testing – utilizing various equipment including ultrasonic and thermal welding and laser cutting of materials.
Perform monthly lab equipment checks and routine maintenance on lab instrumentation and equipment
Assist in managing the calibrated instruments by working with the calibration department
Understand and follow the instructions and specifications of engineers and other requestors
Prepare written test reports according to lab standards
Maintain and follow proper storage of lab supplies and chemicals
Utilize the test request system for lab assignments and submission of reports
Perform other duties as assigned
Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality
Minimum Qualifications:
AAS degree in Engineering Technology or similar
Prior experience in a test or engineering lab
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel
Experience with pneumatic systems and troubleshooting
Experience with temperature and pressure instrumentation (i.e. thermocouple or manometers)
Knowledge of lab environment, safety practices, and cleanliness
Strong analytical, observational, organization and time management skills
Ability to commute to the office daily
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree Engineering Technology or Engineering
Experience in pneumatic system design
Experience in oil vapor testing
Knowledge of data acquisition systems, preferably DEWEsoft DAQ
Experience in writing technical reports
Ability to read engineering drawings
Hourly Pay Range: $24.09 - $30.10 depending on relevant experience, qualifications, and skills.
This position is overtime eligible as per state and federal regulations.
