Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in both the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Medical Surgical Units is responsible for providing high-level nursing care to patients with diverse medical needs. This position entails working with critically ill patients in the ICU as well as managing post-surgery patients in the Medical Surgical Unit. RNs in this role must possess strong clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Shift: Day and Night
  • Pay: $46.00 - $50.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical and emotional conditions in both ICU and Medical Surgical environments.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as per physician orders and established protocols.
  • Monitor and document changes in patients' conditions, including vital signs and laboratory results, accurately in electronic health records.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to establish and execute individualized care plans for patients.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
  • Take part in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families during critical and transitional care phases.

Requirements

  • Current and valid RN license in the state of practice; compact state license preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate’s Degree considered with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Intensive Care Unit and Medical Surgical setting is required.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory; additional certifications such as CCRN desirable.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing clinical environments and patient care demands.
