Toledo Tool & Die is adding Sort Operators to our team to support our continued growth.


This is a full-time position based in Toledo, Ohio. We offer competitive wages, growth opportunities, and a clean, safe work environment.


Come join our team! Hours for this position are typically:

  • 1st shift Monday - Friday 6:00AM - 2:00PM
  • 2nd shift Monday – Friday 2:00PM – 10:00PM

*Must be available to work overtime (daily, weekend & some holidays) *


WHAT TOLEDO TOOL & DIE CAN OFFER YOU:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Discard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications.
  • Mark items with details, such as grade or acceptance-rejection status.
  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
  • Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems.
  • Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.
  • Monitor production operations or equipment to ensure conformance to specifications, making necessary process or assembly adjustments.
  • Record inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded.
  • Remove defects, such as chips, burrs, or lap corroded or pitted surfaces.
  • Stack or arrange tested products for further processing, shipping, or packaging.
  • Weigh materials, products, containers, or samples to verify packaging weights or ingredient quantities.
  • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Oral Expression — The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Oral Comprehension — The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Perceptual Speed — The ability to compare similarities and differences quickly and accurately among sets of letters, numbers, objects, pictures, or patterns. The things to be compared may be presented at the same time or one after the other. This ability also includes comparing a presented object with a remembered object.
  • Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing that there is a problem.
  • Written Comprehension — The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Arm-Hand Steadiness — The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
  • Deductive Reasoning — The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Finger Dexterity — The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Selective Attention — The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
  • Identified candidates must be able to work overtime (daily, weekends and holidays).
  • Possess good physical stamina and coordination.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull objects that are up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work as a team, good communication skills, basic math skills, physical dexterity.
