Description

Summary

 

The Master of Social Work program at Regis College seeks adjunct instructors with primary responsibility within the social work field education program for upcoming semesters (fall-spring) in the 2025-2026 academic year. Field Education offers MSW students the opportunity to advance their learning through engagement in field practicums within community agencies engaged in social work practice.

 

 

Essentail Functions

 

  • Teach a generalist practice 3 credit field seminar course

  • Serve as field liaison between the MSW program and field agencies and oversee students' educational focus in placements. This includes participation in (virtual) agency site visits and consulting with students and agencies to problem solve concerns, as needed.

  • Attend a monthly field faculty team meeting to consult on student issues, course assignments, and program updates

  • Communicate with non-field MSW faculty as needed to support student learning. In the MSW program, students are prepared to become clinical social workers. Field education course work covers both generalist (foundation) level, as well as advanced clinical (more specialized) social work courses.

 

 

Other Responsibilities

 

  • Field seminar courses are both asynchronous and synchronous. The instructor must meet with students for six (6), 90-minute, synchronous sessions over 16-week semester). Remaining instruction is asynchronous online;

  • Instructor must be available for virtual site visits between field instructor and students;

  • Provide office hours and excellent communication to online students;

  • Be available in the online classroom as needed for students (recommend checking-in the classroom four days per week);

  • Assign grades and provide relevant and substantive feedback in a timely manner through the Moodle classroom;

  • Respond to student email inquiries within 24 hours weekdays, 48 hours weekends, utilizing the university email account;

  • Participate in regular remote meetings, trainings, and faculty development opportunities.

 


Qualifications

 

  • Applicants must have a CSWE-accredited MSW degree  

  • Interest in teaching social work field education

  • Minimum of two years post-MSW experience

  • LCSW or LICSW (clinical) licensure preferred

  • Demonstrated skill in group facilitation 

  • Experience in supervising social work practicum students is highly desired

  • Experience in teaching online in post-secondary education settings

  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite, LMS-Moodle and willingness to learn technology tools used to support student learning

  • Ability to uphold the university’s mission, values, and commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.

 

 

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

 

  • Must work remotely and have reliable internet access; 

  • Must schedule synchronous class meetings and other meetings on Eastern Time.

  • May spend extended periods at a computer and on zoom meetings.
