How You Will Contribute:
As a Component Planner, you will oversee the consignment component inventory, coordinate with suppliers and contract manufacturers, and drive sales of excess components. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Supply Planning, and Sales, to optimize inventory levels, maintain a smooth supply chain process, and reduce excess through component sales. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage consignment component inventory, ensuring optimal levels to meet production and customer demands.
- Collaborate with suppliers to monitor clear to build and identify potential supply constraints.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align consignment component requirements with production schedules.
- Actively drive component sales by identifying opportunities, engaging with resellers and contract manufacturers, and ensuring timely action on purchase requests and inquiries.
- Conduct regular inventory audits of consigned components and address any issues or concerns that may impact the supply chain.
- Utilize supply chain software and tools to track consignment component availability, delivery, and performance metrics.
- Generate reports and provide regular updates on consignment component inventory and excess component sales.
The Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Supply Planner or in a similar role, with a focus on WIP inventory management.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management, demand forecasting, and sales coordination.
- Proficient in using supply chain software and tools for inventory tracking and analysis
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Assets:
- Collaborator, organized, self-motivated, and capable of independent work.
- Multitasking: able to manage complex projects simultaneously.
- Able to negotiate internally and externally of the Supply Chain.
- Superior interface skills and ability to work at all levels of Ciena including executive management.
- Experience in developing Alteryx workflows to simplify analytics
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP)
- High Tech experience is an asset
Pay Range:
The annual pay range for this position is $63,900 - $102,100 CAD
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
