Your role at Clorox:

Electro, Clorox’s in-house digital agency, is seeking a passionate and driven Senior Technical Lead to join our dynamic engineering team. At Electro, our technologists tackle a variety of exciting and innovative projects, from UX prototypes and smart speaker skills to mobile applications and a robust WordPress CMS/e-commerce platform that powers 40 responsive websites.

In this role, you will:

Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to development activities by writing clean, efficient, and unit-tested JavaScript and PHP code, prioritizing performance and maintainability.
  • Produce well-structured, accessible HTML and CSS to ensure efficient user experience.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 4-6 Technical Leads, fostering teamwork and driving knowledge-sharing to improve team expertise.
  • Establish best practices, provide constructive feedback, and ensure consistent code quality across the team.
  • Stay up to date with industry innovations and trends, sharing insights to continuously improve our practices and processes.
  • Handle relationships with external development teams and vendor partners, ensuring effective collaboration and timely delivery.
  • Work closely with multi-functional teams (UX, Visual Design, PM) to ensure flawless project execution.
  • Deliver accurate and timely project status updates to leadership, keeping partners advised.
  • Estimate and plan development projects, including analyzing requirements, wireframes, and APIs to propose technical solutions.
  • Lead effort estimation, sprint planning, and manage development to meet project milestones.

What we look for:

Experience

  • 5+ years of development experience, with at least 2 years in a team lead role.
  • Experience with test-driven and behavior-driven development methodologies, utilizing testing frameworks and tools, and adhering to SDLC best practices.
  • Strong commitment to application performance, extensibility, code reuse, and simplicity.
  • Expertise in front-end web development, with deep proficiency in JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with headless CMS platforms such as Contentful.
  • Experience with React and specifically NextJS, with a focus on the App Router ​
  • Experience with PHP-based CMS platforms and application frameworks, particularly WordPress.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure tools from AWS and GCP.
  • Experience with PAAS services such as Vercel and Pantheon.

Skills

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients, and tailor communication to suit different audiences

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related experience,
  • Master's degree is a plus.

Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

Zone A: $106,700 - $204,900
Zone B: $97,800 - $187,900
Zone C: $88,900 - $170,800

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
