Hybrid Lead UI Engineer at Corelight

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Lead UI Engineer to join the team here at Corelight. You will be tasked with leading the development of new features and maintaining our existing web-based interfaces while working closely with our API team to deliver best in class user experiences. We work mainly with a React/TypeScript stack, however full stack web development expertise is a strong plus.

Engineers at Corelight are expected to own initiatives from end to end, so strong communication and coordinating skills are crucial. Team members are encouraged to contribute and solve problems wherever they feel their strengths apply.

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical execution and architecture of our design system component library
• Implement design system components and new product features across multiple applications in a monorepo framework
• Coordinate with product stakeholders and fellow engineers to gather requirements and design solutions
• Participate in code reviews and lead technical discussions
• Implement new features while also modernizing the existing codebase when possible
• Provide mentorship and direction for junior team members

Qualifications

• 8+ years production experience contributing to frontend web applications
• Hands-on experience leading the development of a React-based application
• Production experience with a TypeScript-based application
• Expert-level knowledge of React
• Knowledge of UX best practices and common patterns
• Strong CSS fundamentals, knowledge of CSS architecture
• Experience with formal API Specification (OpenAPI, Swagger, json schema)
• Experience with Javascript unit testing using a framework like Jest or similar
• Knowledge of web fundamentals - HTTP request/response, authentication, etc
• Ability to balance production work with planning/coordination efforts
• Experience working in a SCRUM/Agile methodology environment

Nice to have

• Experience with GraphQL / Apollo
• Experience managing a multi-application monorepo framework
• Experience working with a React-based component library, like Chakra or Material UI
• Experience working with cloud services such as AWS, tracing tools like NewRelic, or similar
