What You’ll Do
IronArch is seeking a Desktop Engineer to join our team. The Army Corps of Engineers – Revolutionary Information Technology Services (RITS) program provides modern, secure, enterprise-wide IT support services to approximately 37,000 USACE customers across both Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
As a Level 3 Field Operations Team member, you will provide comprehensive support for enterprise Windows computing systems, ensuring the overall health and availability of end-user systems. This is a 100% remote position.
Responsibilities will include:
- Analyze, diagnose and resolve complex desktop end user problems and suggest corrective solutions.
- Develop and maintain software tools and custom scripts, using PowerShell and Visual Basic, to automate repetitive tasks.
- Analyze root cause problems and execute corrective action.
- Coordinate with computer specialists to resolve technical problems.
- Review and test deployment updates through System Center Configuration Manager.
- Ensure compliance with all security and operational policies and procedures.
- Document configurations, and processes and procedures for maintenance and support of Windows 10 devices for key stakeholders, as well as implementation teams.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience.
- Current DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level I (A+ CE, Network+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security).
- Must obtain appropriate DoD 8570 IA Computing Environment Certification within 6 months of employment.
- Secret Clearance required prior to start.
- Experience in designing, creating, testing and maintaining internal Windows Client Imaging infrastructure.
- Experience in Active Directory Group/Users/Computers Organizational Units
- Experience in Group Policy/DISA STIG for Windows OS.
- Advanced experience with scripting tools such as PowerShell, Visual Basic etc.
- Knowledge and experience with administering Active Directory.
- Knowledge and experience working with WMI.
- Strong knowledge of desktop monitoring and troubleshooting toolsets.
- Experience troubleshooting and enhancing desktop security and configuration management through Group Policy Objects (GPO), in-depth experience with Active Directory and GPOs/GPPs as well as the ability to create custom policies.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex problems involving multiple technologies and develop solutions.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, peripheral, software, network, and other client-side related problems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft 365.
- Ability to communicate technical issues in terms understood by both technical and non-technical end-users.
- Ability to interface with all functions and at all levels within the organization and with external customers.
