Overview
The Private Funds Advisory team at Moelis & Company is a leading capital raiser and strategic advisor to global alternative investment managers. Our clients include general partners pursuing a wide spectrum of investment strategies such as buyout, growth equity, venture, distressed/turnaround, infrastructure, mezzanine, credit, and real assets.
Position Description:
The Associate position at Moelis offers exposure to all aspects of the alternative investment capital raising business and provides a close vantage point to our fund manager clients and senior professionals within Moelis.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with evaluation of potential fundraising opportunities by conducting due diligence (analyzing clients’ investment portfolios, investment strategy and quality of management team)
Preparing marketing materials such as investor presentations, offering memoranda and financial models
Coordinating investor roadshows and providing client support throughout the fundraise
Managing online dataroom for fundraising campaigns
Working with senior distribution/sales bankers to carefully track investor feedback
Completing due diligence requests from investors
Conducting ad hoc industry research
Qualifications:
Candidates for the Associate position should exhibit a strong history of academic achievement as well as possess the following attributes:
Minimum of 3-5 years post-college financial services experience
Understanding of the private equity industry
Highly motivated individual with a strong desire to learn
Keen attention to detail
Strong analytical and technical skills (including extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
Ability to think creatively in order to solve problems
Excellent communication skills
Organized, with good judgment and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team
